2013: Painter spent the regular-season and first two weeeks of the postseason on Denver’s practice squad... Signed to the active roster on Jan. 14.

2012: Painter opened all 13 games for Virginia Tech and was named an honorable mention All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection after posting nine touchdown blocks in his first season as a starter at right tackle...Helped block for the ACC's fifth-ranked rushing attack (145.9 ypg)...Made his first career start in the Hokies' season opener vs. Georgia Tech (9/3).


2011: Painter played in 12 games as a reserve offensive lineman and special-teams contributor...Graded out at 86 percent while participating in a season-high 30 snaps on offense vs. Appalachian State (9/3).

2010: Painter saw action in four games as a backup at right guard...Played a season-high 19 snaps vs. Wake Forest (10/16).

2009: Painter switched to offense and played in three games as a redshirt freshman before earning Iron Hokie honors during the offseason program in which he posted the top bench press (445 pounds), second-best push jerk (361 pounds) and the third-best back squat (535 pounds)...Did not play until the team's 10th game after suffering a left kneecap disclocation during spring drills.

2008: Painter worked at defensive tackle while redshirting during his true freshman season.

High School: Painter attended Maury High School in Norfolk, Va., where he excelled as a two-way player and was named a first-team Group AAA all-state selection by the Associated Press as a senior offensive tackle...Earned second-team all-district honors at defensive tackle following his final prep season...Ranked the No. 14 offensive tackle in the country and the No. 5 player in the state of Virginia by Rivals.com after his senior year.

Personal: Painter majored in apparel, housing and resource management (residential property management) at Virginia Tech...Vinston Eric Painter was born on Oct. 11, 1989, in Norfolk, Va.
