Career Overview: Bradley Roby was a starter in all 37 games he played in over his three-year playing career with the Buckeyes ... a senior academically (he red-shirted in 2010), Roby completed his junior season of eligibility in 2013 ... he declared early in the 2013 season that he would enter the NFL Draft after the 2013 season and he was recognized as a senior during the team's final home game of the year vs. Indiana ... had 44 career passes defended (eight INTs and 36 PBUs) and he ranked third in school history with 226 interception return yards ... tied for the school record (with seven others) with two career interception returns for TDs ... scored five touchdowns on defense and special teams ... majoring in communications.
Junior Season: Named all-Big Ten (coaches & media) in 2013 and a third-team All-American (Athlons) after recording 69 tackles, 16 passes defended (T3rd in the Big Ten; total includes three interceptions) and two blocked punts (vs. Northwestern and Indiana) ... set career highs in both tackles and solo tackles vs. Indiana with 10 solos stops ... scored two touchdowns; one off a blocked punt recovery in the end zone vs. Northwestern and the other a 63-yard pick-six vs. Illinois ... had 120 interception return yards in 2013, the fifth-highest single season total in school history ... was named to preseason watch lists for the Thorpe, Walter Camp, Bednarik and Nagurski awards.
Sophomore Season: Roby was the only defensive player in the nation in 2012 to score touchdowns three different ways (recovered a fumbled punt in the end zone vs. Miami; he recovered a blocked punt in the end zone vs. Indiana; and he intercepted a pass vs. Nebraska and returned it for a touchdown) ... first-team All-American (ESPN.com) and all-Big Ten (coaches & media) while leading the nation in passes defended with 19 (17 pass break-ups, which tied the OSU single season record, and two interceptions) and 1.73 per game ... a semifinalist for the Thorpe Award in 2012 ... was named a second-team All-American by the Associated Press and Walter Camp.
Freshman Season: After red-shirting the 2010 season as a true freshman, Roby stepped up when he had the opportunity and started all 13 games at cornerback in 2011 ... he tied for the team lead with three interceptions and he also was in on 47 tackles ... his 57 interception return yards topped the team and included a 36-yard return vs. Illinois (to the Illini 12) that set the Buckeyes up for a momentum-swinging, second-half score in the 17-7 win ... he recorded his first career interception against the Miami Hurricanes and also picked off a pass vs. Michigan State ... coaches presented him with the 1st Year Defensive Player Award as the outstanding first-year player on defense.
