Updated at 2:42 p.m. MDT

According to police in Detroit, Broncos linebacker Jason Hunter was the victim of a stabbing on Wednesday.

The sixth-year pro has reportedly been taken to a Detroit-area hospital, and his condition has not been disclosed.

"We are aware of the reports regarding Jason Hunter and are currently in the process of gathering information and reviewing the facts," the Broncos said in a statement. "Our thoughts are with Jason, and we are hopeful he makes a quick recovery.

"Out of respect for his privacy, we will not have additional comment on the matter at this time."

Hunter's agent, Robert B. Walker, the president and CEO of Unlimited Success Sports Management, Inc., said via Twitter: "I've spoken to my client Jason Hunter and it's a very minor injury, just a few stitches. He'll be fine. We thank you for your prayers."
